I recently had the chance to visit with Maribeth Bersani, Chief Operations Officer for Argentum about the upcoming national Senior Living Executive Conference that takes place April 15-17 in San Antonio, Texas. The bottom line is that there is some really cool stuff happening. After talking with Maribeth, here is the list:

  1. It is a fantastic time to reconnect with old friends.

  1. You will get a chance to make new friends.

  1. It is a time to hear from experts in senior living.

  1. If you are a golfer there will be Argentum Advocacy Golf Tournament.

  1. It is a time to hear from experts who are from outside our industry.

  1. You will get a chance to explore and interact with a group of great companies that provide products and services to the senior living industry, including many great Senior Housing Forum partners.

  1. You will get to hang out in San Antonio.

  1. You can take a Certified Director of Assisted Living (CDAL) test prep course on Sunday.

  1. There will be a deep dive into Argentum’s new Women in Leadership series.

  1. Sarah Thomas, the NFL’s first female referee, will be one of the speakers . . . how cool is that?

  1. Workforce continues to be a significant challenge in senior living and there will be a number of sessions dedicated to this topic.

  1. There will be sessions on dining, the one place to get it right or wrong in senior living multiple times a day.

  1. There will be parties, and receptions, and food and drink, and networking.

  1. Kim Campbell, the wife of country singer Glen Campbell will be talking about her experiences as a family caregiver.

  1. Dr. Daniel Levitan who has a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology will be talking about the research on the impact of music on the brain and what it means to elders and individuals with dementia.

  1. Former Utah Governor and HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt will be talking about the integration of healthcare and senior living.

  1. The last couple of years have been filled with natural disasters that have had a profound impact on a large number of senior living communities. A number of leaders who experienced these disasters will be talking about what went right and wrong . . . a great-lessons-learned session.

  1. Sessions on the state of the industry.

  2. Sessions on the financial state of the industry.

  1. You will be able to rub shoulders with some of the greatest leaders in our industry, a chance to pick their brains.

  1. If you are an executive director, you can up your game by being a part of the Executive Director Leadership Institute.

  1. There is going to be a powerful leadership track.

  1. The Argentum Women in Leadership will be in full steam at the event.

  1. There will be panels with CEOs who have been through tough times and survived, and even thrived, where they will share their secrets.
