Our Senior Housing Forum Empower initiative is giving voice to the many women and men in the industry offering opportunities to lift women up in our business of caring for others. I am honored to introduce a special seniors housing sales and marketing leader with more than two decades of supporting and leading creative sales and marketing strategies for companies like Sunrise, Alterra, Emeritus, and now, for more than eight years, as First Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Greystone Communities out of Dallas, Texas.
In our interview, Mindy Cheek and I discuss her journey as a north Texas Mother to a business professional. Most importantly, is Mindy’s personal mission to be an advocate for vulnerable LGBTQ seniors, when compassion and sensitivity is most needed by management, associates, and residents. Today, Mindy sits on the Housing committee for the Coalition on Aging for LGBTQ Seniors and is a Volunteer Education Ambassador for SAGE, the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ) older adults.
