I spent the last 24 hours in the emergency room dealing with some internal bleeding. (It’s been fixed, I’m pretty sure, and I’m home working, though not quite at 100%.) I’ll be writing about the experience, but being in the emergency room right across from the nursing station, I got to observe a lot. I got to watch how people interacted, how they talked to each other … or didn’t talk to each other.

I was able to hear many conversations. I’m really good at asking questions, and people told me stuff.

On the surface, it looks like an efficient, well-oiled machine where everyone loved coming to work, doing their job, loved their co-workers, and their employer…
