Your team members want to love coming to work. That love happens when two things come together:

  1. They are making a meaningful contribution to the organization and to you as a leader
  2. They know you know they are important to the organization and to the leaders. 

In other words, it is all about how you make them feel about their work, you, their leader, and their co-workers. 

Think back to all the people you have ever worked for. The job you liked the most, where you were most effective, was where your leader saw the work you were doing and let you know you were appreciated.

This one activity should become a part of your daily, weekly, and monthly practice. It will transform the personal and work lives of those you lead, and it will transform your life as well.
