Hasbro has come out with an animatronic companion cat and a product line targeted specifically to elders

By Steve Moran

At this year’s Boomer Venture Summit in Silicon Valley, I interviewed Ted Fischer, who is Vice President of Business Development for Hasbro, the international toymaking company. Seem like a stretch for Senior Housing Forum?

Well, not really . . . in this video, he introduces their new, lifelike, animatronic companion cat and discusses Joy for All, their product line targeted specifically to elders.

He explains that this lap pet is programmed with a unique play pattern, purrs, is responsive to touch, and can be enjoyed without requiring care.

Senior living residents can enjoy all of fun and comfort of cat ownership, according to Ted, “without the claws or looks of disdain.”
