Since selling Senior Living Foresight to ProcareHR, the most common question I get is this: “How’s it going?” My answer is always the same: great. I get to do a lot more of the things I like doing and fewer of the things that need to be done but that I hate doing.
One big difference, though …
A larger, more complex organization means more meetings, and more meetings I am not leading. Like all leaders, I think the meetings I lead are way more important and necessary than other people’s meetings.
And of course, they feel the same way about theirs.
This has caused me to put a lot more thought into my own meetings. And more broadly, how leaders can make their meetings more impactful and more efficient. Because here’s what I know: most meetings end in conversation. Very few end in action. There’s a difference, and it matters more than most leaders realize.
