I confess that I still have not quite figured out how to use video effectively at Senior Housing Forum. Most of the time I post a video and the number of views is horrible (like the one in this article last week). And yet once in awhile I will post something that goes crazy and is viewed many hundreds or thousands of times.

Leap Day Video

This morning I received a short email from Bruce Mackey saying he thought I would like this video. I confess (sorry Bruce) a big percentage of the time when a senior living company sends me a video I am not so terribly impressed and so I watched with pretty low expectations.

I guessed wrong. This video is about AS PERFECT AS IT GETS.

Here is why:

  • it does not do a big sell job on the senior living community itself, but it does identify the community in a positive light (ideal content marketing technique).
  • It makes living in senior living look like great fun.
  • It shows residents learning and contributing.
  • It is intergenerational.

We as an industry need to be flooding the internet with these videos.

Watching this will be a well spent 2 minutes and 16 seconds. As more than 100,000 people who have already watched it have discovered.

#DayItForward

Today is leap day! What will you do to #DayItForward? I collaborated with Chevrolet and was able to spend my extra 24 hours visiting a retirement community. What happened was amazing! Make sure you watch the surprise at the end!#Collab
