Here’s what that means in real life.

We have dozens, maybe hundreds, of things we do each day with little or no thought.

We wake up with an alarm or without one. We go to bed early or late. We spend time in prayer, meditation, or journaling, or we don’t. We check email the second we open our eyes, or we wait. We hit Starbucks, Buc-ee’s, or Dutch Bros for coffee and maybe a pastry. We work out, or we don’t. We’re the kind of person who’s on time, or the kind who’s always fifteen minutes behind, and everyone who knows us already knows which one.

None of it feels like a decision. That’s the point. We call this collection of behaviors “your life,” but it’s more accurate to call it a system. And that system determines the quality of your life. It shapes how you lead, how you treat people, how happy you are or aren’t.
