My favorite conference of the year is not open to everyone so it makes it kind of hard to write a “you should attend this conference article”. And yet . . . it is worth you knowing about.

A few years ago, a guy by the name of Michael Owens reached out to me saying, “We are going to be at the same event in Los Angeles and I am hoping we can meet.” He went on to tell me he had this dream of doing a new exclusive fresh conference for C-level senior living executives.

Senior Living Innovation Forum

He launched that first conference about 9 months later at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville resort in South Florida. It was unique and fun. It included a lot of quality networking time, and great speakers from both inside and outside the industry.

Last year’s event was in Napa and was even better than the first, nearly doubling in size. Check out this just for fun, day in the life video from that gathering:

This year the Senior Living Innovation Forum is heading to the Boca Raton Resort & Beach Club from June 4-6th.

Why Attend

Here is why this forum is on my must-attend list (and should be on yours too):

  • It is a gathering of the very best and brightest minds in the senior living sector; people really committed to driving the industry forward.

  • It is intimate enough that you get a chance to, at least, meet everyone you want to meet.

  • The networking functions are designed to facilitate meaningful conversations with peers.

  • The overall spirit of the event is unlike others in the industry. Way more relaxed, personable and fun. It’s more like a retreat than a conference.

  • There are always speakers from outside this industry that will stretch your thinking. This year, Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari and Chuck E, Cheese, is one of the keynotes. He is 74-years-old and still going strong in the gaming space. I just did an interview with him that will be posted.

Who’s Invited

What is cool is that the conference is free for senior living executives who qualify (executive leadership from mid to large size providers). Registration includes, the conference, 2 nights’ accommodation at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, the food, the beverages and the activities (sunset cruises, cooking competitions, and more). Attendees are asked to meet with some of the carefully curated group of sponsors throughout the event (tech, design, real estate services, and more).

Qualified attendees must be C-level executives in organizations that have at least 500 residents.

Being a Business Partner

There are about 35 companies that provide the funding that makes this event possible. Compared to traditional trade shows and conferences, it is not the least expensive investment you will make. But it gives you the opportunity to meet with leaders of growing innovative senior living organizations. These sponsoring companies keep coming back because they receive value.

I hope to see you there.
