A few weeks ago, I was at the California Assisted Living conference in Sacramento. The content was exceptionally strong. They were talking about really big challenges and really solid solutions.
Sitting at the same table with me was a C-suite executive with her notebook open, rapidly making notes. I could see at least 13 bullet points, and the talk was not yet over.
I got to wondering what she would do with those bullet points. Then I realized this was just a single session at a single conference. She would likely go home with 50 to 100 bullet points, even acknowledging that not every presentation would be as strong or as relevant as this one.
The Hard Part
I am not critical of what she was doing. I do the same thing, and I guarantee I attend a lot more conferences than she does. I have so much content right now that I need to write about, and a lot of it will never see the light of day.
