Maybe this never happens to you. It’s the middle of the afternoon, you have been on your phone a lot. You pick it up to do something and realize your battery is seriously low … 9%, 7%, 4%.
You feel stupid and frustrated, you immediately start trying to figure out how to ration the remaining battery life until you can get to a charger.
Your team struggles with the same thing in real life. They have a trust battery meter when they look at you, think about you.
So the question I want to explore with you is this: How much does your team really trust you? If it were a battery meter what, percentage would it be at?
Here is the problem … your team doesn’t have a meter that you can glance at to see if things are healthy, okay or in the apocalypse zone.
You mostly find out when it is too late, after they have quit or when they begin to behave in ways that are seriously damaging to the organization.Â
